Me fiz essa pergunta uns tempos atrás e as enviei para Kate poder responder sobre o deadline e lançamento do zine. É uma rápida entrevista sobre o conteúdo e material que elas já receberam. A tradução está tosca e sem revisão, queria ter tempo pra poder fazer um post mais gramaticamente correto e completo, mas tá complicado, então fica na base do rápido-semi tosco.

O prazo para enviar material para o International Girl Gang é 31 de maio. Hoje é 9 de maio. O que você pode nos dizer sobre as contribuições? Tem materiais sendo enviado fora os EUA?KW: As contribuições são bem variadas. Nós recebemos vídeos, músicas, muitos nvos manifestos riot grrrl e textos. E sim, muito material tem vindo de fora dos EUA!
Até agora nós temos rad girls representando o Brasil, nós temos também materiais vindo de Portugal, Canada, Espanha,Itália, Inlgaterra e França. Dentro dos EUA: Brooklyn (NY), São Francisco (CA), Dallas (TX), Portland (OR), Olympia (WA) e Whashington (DC).
Nós estamos procurando também pessoas que queiram resenhar bandas pro zine. Nós temos uma lista de sugestões, mas aberta para novas! Mais informações sobre isso está disponível no tumblr,

Do material que vocês já tem recebido, como você acho que o zine vai ficar? Quantas páginas mais ou menos?KW: Nós ainda não temos certeza porque nós ainda não contabilizamos tudo o que foi enviado. Com o que temos até agora eu diria entre 30 e 50 páginas, mas isso pode mudar muito porque ainda temos 2 semanas para receber materiais!
Qual foi a reação das garotas punks dos EUA quando você divulgou o zine e deixou o convite aberto para envio dos materiais?KW: Surpreendentemente não ouvi muitas reações das mulheres da minha própria comunidade sobre elas enviarem ou não algum material, mas as que pensam em enviar
tem ótimas idéias! A reação nos EUA tem sido realmente maravilhosa. Marisa Meltzer, autora de Girl Power: The Nineties Revolution in Music entrou em contato conosco quase imediatamente depois de divulgarmos a idéia; ela nos consultou sobre um artigo que ela escreveu para a revista
BUST sobre riot grrrl.
O POC zine project levou cópias do nosso panfleto de divulgação para o Lawrence’s Women’s History Conference, esse ano.
Muitas mulheres punks que eu conheço tanto de tocar em shows como do movimento punk e/ou de comunidades acadêmicas demonstraram seu interesse divulgando nosso panfleto de divulgação em seus sites. Toda a experiência está sendo super inspiradora até agora: recebendo contribuições de mulheres que vivem na minha vizinhança e que não conheço (ainda!), como recebendo contribuições internacionais de pessoas como você, pessoas que me fazem querer viajar pra todos os lugares e conhecer todas as grassroots feminits pelo mundo.

Where's International Girl Gang Underground? I asked myself what about this great idea? Then I asked Kate some questions and finally I post here this short interview. Yes there's written mistakes but that's just what I can do. Questions by Carla Duarte and answers by Kate Wadkins.
The deadline to send contribution to International Girl Gang its may 31st. Today its May 9. What can you say to me about the contributions? Theres some coming from the outside of the US?The contributions so far are varied. We’ve received video work, music, lots of new riot grrrl manifestas, artwork, and articles. And yes, lots of work from outside of the United States! So far we have you rad ladies representing Brazil, we have submissions from Portugal, Canada, Spain, Italy, the UK and France. Within the US: Brooklyn, NY; San Francisco, CA; Dallas, TX; Portland, OR; Olympia, WA; Washington, DC.
We’re also looking for folks who want to review bands for the zine. We have a list of suggestions, but are open to many more! More information about that is available at our tumblr, here.
From the material you have already how big do you think the zine it's going to be? How many pages?We’re not sure yet because we haven’t laid out all the submissions. With everything we have now I’d say between 30 and 50 pages, but that might change a lot since we still have over two weeks left for submissions!
When you spread the call for submissions how was the reaction of punk girls in US you have touch with?Surprisingly, I haven’t heard from many of the women in my own community about whether or not they are going to submit something, but those who plan to have great ideas! The US reaction has been really wonderful.
Marisa Meltzer, author of Girl Power: The Nineties Revolution in Music contacted us almost immediately after we put out our call for submissions; she consulted us for an article she wrote for BUST magazine on riot grrrl. The POC Zine Project brought copies of the call out to Sarah Lawrence’s Women’s History Conference this year.
Many punk women I know either from playing shows or from the national punk and/or academic communities have showed their support by posting the call for submissions on their websites.
The whole experience has been super inspiring so far: receiving submissions from women who live in my neighborhood that I’ve never met (yet!), as well as getting international submissions from people like you, folks who make me want to travel
everywhere and meet all the grassroots feminists around the world.
Can you say when the zine will be finished?We hope to have the zine out by fall/winter 2010!
